I attended a social media webinar today - it was 3pm, I was in my pajamas and working from my living room couch. I love my life : )
The fellow leading the discussion was smart enough, seemed sincere enough, but honestly, I didn't really learn anything.
I thought I'd learned about some emerging social media opportunities, but when I visited these recommended sites, I wasn't impressed. Check them out & make your own decision - biznik and q-alias.
There are new social media sites built and marketed everyday along with some very nice swamp land in Florida. What I learned from today's social media webinar was that I spent over an hour listening to a prolonged commercial for a consulting company that basically provides the same services that I provide - or at least some of the services that I provide - social media strategy, creation and management for businesses and individuals.
There were over 1000 others who attended today's webinar. I wonder how many of them researched the speaker's content, claims and recommendations. Think, people! Use your minds!

I actually laughed when I read that!
My dad works for AT&T and works from home 5 days out of the week. He would agree! ^_^
Cheers!
I'm in the middle of a webinar now, I think one of the main draws is the fact that they show you new sites, but that's really about it.
If it was the same webinar I listened to they gave you the sales formula and then applied the fomula.... come on I really wanted to learn something new.
